Heard a lot of horror stories about needing 3 hours to connect at CDG. Is it true? Let's find out!
Being a seasoned traveller (haha!), i am good with navigating around any airports. CDG is simply quite difficult to navigate in becoz there are no signs! Well, there are signs but not when you need to connect.
CDG may be designed new age a LONG time ago but it looks so aged now. I was not used to those funny flat escalator which suddenly turned uphill. Be warned or you might lose your balance!
After a lot of walking and thru the custom (which asked no questions and just gave me a stamp), I was led to the baggage claim area. Basically if you are looking to connect, just look for the exit sign because you will have to exit first.
The above photo shows the info desk which is useful as after u walked out of the exit, there are no signs about connection!!!!! After talking to an agent, I learned that the departure is down a level which I need to take the E lift on the right to. There are also no signs about which airline is where so the agent told me it is at hall 2. Without this info i might have to go round and round!
Got my F boarding pass! Again, no lineups! I feel for Econ passengers..
The agent told me to go thru boarding area and after security, the Star Alliance lounge can be reached at the elevator on the far side. Good to know! I thibk everyone knows how bad the signage is so there are a lot of verbal instructions around.
Onto the funny flat escalator again.
See the purple sign? That "Acces no 1" is for me hehe! There is a gate which you can unlocked by scanning the boarding pass which has a fast track code. So there i was through the line to custom by myself whereas the next line was full of people!
No signs again so i wasnt sure what to do and almost walked pass the custom officers haha... And the agents had to hold the entire econ queue so i can 'fast track' onto custom. I am sure many red-eyed me them lol!
Shelves of foie gras!!! After i got out of custom i saw the elevator right in front of me to get to the lounges. I also spotted other stores so i walked around a bit to see if I can find macarons... But no i couldnt. I guess i will head to the lounge first!
